So...What do I talk
about? I don't know. I'll just ramble. I'll digress to something relevant
eventually. You know, everything I type sounds in my head like a British guy is
saying it. That's obviously the influence of the book im reading right now
"The golem's Eye", second one in the Bartimaeus trilogy, though
that's a lie, he wrote 4 books for the series. I'm doing the first one for that
book report thing. Anyway, British guy wrote it, and it’s pretty obvious in his
writing style. I love like his humor. I love British humor in general actually;
no one seems to agree with me. Everyone calls it “dry” but I think it’s so
colorful and animated and witty. Just me I guess. What was I talking about? Oh yeah, Jonathan Stroud,
love him. I should see what else he's written. I doubt I would like them as
quite as much, though. I really adore the chapters with Bartimaeus's first
person telling of the story. SO good. Lovelovelove. You know, I had been
reading this book on the Italy trip over spring break, but I think I left the
book on the bus there or something because I haven't got a clue where it is. So
I went to Barnes & Noble yesterday with Chanie and got a new one. The other
was kind of falling apart anyway. I was hoping for a hard back copy, you know,
so it doesn’t fall apart, but no such luck. I have the rest of the series in
hard back. I guess you can only get it when the books new and on the tables, or
if it’s really really popular. I am a bit sad since this one wasn’t printed on
that shiny, iridescent paper that looks like oil on wet pavement. This one's
just regular shiny. Like, cheap finish on a cardboard book cover shiny. I guess
that makes sense, since that’s what it is. The other book even looked good
scratched cause like I said; it was printed on that pretty iridescent paper,
and when the printed on blue scratched off, it looked kinda like metal, only
rainbowier. I don’t know why this book isn’t more popular. It should have a
massive following like the Hunger Games. Don’t get me wrong, I loved the hunger
games, but it seems to, flavorless to me. Story is great and intense and
interesting. It always surprises me, and it totally unique. But I feel like the
whole book was read in a monotone, like the writer was totally detached from
the story. Maybe I’ve just been spoiled by all the really animated and
colorfully worded stuff I love so much. That even more important than the story
in my opinion. You know, Id would kinda rather read the book I was prattling on
about a few lines ago, than talk about it. I’ma do that now. Bye!
